3. Analysis of 6061, 6063, 6463 and 6005
1. 6061
-
Main characteristics: In the annealing or solution treatment state, it can be subjected to severe forming processing. The heat treatment can fully exert its performance. It has good corrosion resistance, medium strength, and sufficient welding.
-
Standard product shapes: plates, strips, extruded profiles, tubes, rods, wires, forgings, panels.
-
Typical uses: Construction work, road and rail transportation related equipment.
-
Mechanical properties: T4, T451 tensile strength 241MPa. T6, T651 tensile strength 310MPa.
2. 6063
-
Main characteristics: medium strength, good for extrusion of complex shapes, high corrosion resistance, good processability in T4 material, and good surface processing.
-
Standard product shapes: extruded profiles, tubes, rods, wires, forged products.
-
Representative uses: such as building windows, doors, furniture decoration, etc.
-
Mechanical properties: T4 tensile strength 160 MPa. T5 tensile strength 186 MPa. T6 tensile strength 241MPa.
3.6463
-
Main characteristics: It is related to 6063 aluminium alloy, but unlike 6063 it is generally not formed using any processes other than extrusion. It is commonly heat treated to produce tempers with a higher strength but lower ductility.
-
Standard product shapes: extruded profiles, tubes, rods, wires.
-
Representative uses: such as building windows, doors, furniture decoration, etc.
-
Mechanical properties: T4 tensile strength 140 MPa. T5 tensile strength 186 MPa and T6 tensile strength 230 MPa.
4. 6005
-
Main features: medium mechanical strength, which enables it to be used for structural and semi-structural purposes.
-
Standard product shapes: medium strength and toughness extruded profiles
-
Typical applications: Used to manufacture Marine, Ladder, Transport, Light structural, Building & Construction, solar panel bracket.
-
Mechanical properties: T5 tensile strength 290MPa. T6 tensile strength 300MPa.
5. 7005
-
Main characteristics: It is related to 6063 aluminium alloy, but unlike 6063 it is generally not formed using any processes other than extrusion. It is commonly heat treated to produce tempers with a higher strength but lower ductility.
-
Standard product shapes: extruded profiles, tubes, rods, wires, forged products.
-
Representative uses: such as building windows, doors, furniture decoration, etc.
-
Mechanical properties: T4 tensile strength 140 MPa. T5 tensile strength 186 MPa and T6 tensile strength 230 MPa.
2. TEMPER DESIGNATION
---Basic quality--
F: No special mechanical properties are specified.
O: Annealed state, the softest state.
H: Cold processed state, only applicable to expanded materials.
W: Solid Solution treatment also adds time after quenching, and the mechanical properties at the appropriate temperature are unstable.
T: Cooling after Solid solution treatment or high temperature processing.
--Basic Classification of Conditioning--
T1: Cooling after high temperature processing and natural aging to a substantially stable condition.
T2: Cooling after high temperature processing, natural aging after cold processing.
T3: Quenching after solution treatment and natural aging after cold working.
T4: Quenching after solution treatment and natural aging.
T5: Cooling after high temperature processing and artificial aging treatment.
T6: Quenching after solution treatment and artificial aging treatment.
T7: Quenching after solution treatment and the maximum strength of artificial aging treatment.
T8: Quenching after solution treatment and then applying the cold working process and finally doing the artificial aging treatment.
T9: Quenching after solution treatment and then doing the artificial aging treatment and finally applying the cold working process.
T10: Cooling after high temperature processing, artificial aging treatment after cold processing.
